How was your Christmas? Ours was pretty good! The best part of it was getting a puppy! We named him Buddy. I was very surprised Kevin agreed to getting a dog since he was very adamant about not getting one but Kevin loves Buddy! Buddy is very playful and is full of energy. He also likes to sleep a lot! We are currently crate training and potty training him. He is doing pretty good. Hopefully, he will be trained quickly. Our families love Buddy and he is excited to be a part of our family! :)

Christmas Break
It is almost Christmas Break! I started mine by watching my niece and nephew. Kevin will be home soon to start his. He is so excited to have 2 full weeks off. We have a lot of fun stuff coming up and we can't wait to spend time with our families. Only 9 more days until Christmas!

In case you haven't discovered Pinterest, it is a great site for pretty much everything from (cost-friendly)DIY Crafts to Fashion to Recipes. I have been getting sucked in. I swear every time I get on it, it takes me FOREVER to get off! I guess you could say, I am addicted! Oh, well. At least it is allowing my creative side to come out. I have taken several ideas from Pinterest and created Christmas gifts. I will share those crafts after Christmas ... for obvious reasons of course. Today, I found several more DIY Crafts that I want to try. Here is one of them (I need to raid Kevin's t-shirt drawers first).
Here's the link for this craft.
I went to Hobby Lobby this morning to get a couple of t-shirts to try the following project but I just couldn't justify paying the price (okay, so the t-shirts only cost $3.99 each) for a project that I don't know will turn out right or not. I think I will have to try it on some of my old t-shirts before I spend the money on a new t-shirt that I will just cut up.
Here is the link for this project.
Basically, I want to try and make EVERYTHING on Pinterest! I know that will never happen. I have, however, found myself to be much more creative and crafty since discovering Pinterest and I am happy that I found it. If you haven't joined, you really should. Let me know and I will send you an invite.
Happy Crafting!

Play Time
Yesterday afternoon, our niece and nephew came over to play for a few hours. They had a lot of fun. Remy found his Christmas presents under the tree and Myla wanted to take all the ornaments off of the tree.
Remy and I made Oobleck. He loved playing with it and of course, we made a huge mess. It's always fun when we can spend time with our niece and nephew especially when we don't have kids of our own yet.

I'll take this ornament...
...and this one, too.

Wrapped Presents
I wrapped some of the presents today. It is taking longer to wrap them than I anticipated. It's probably because I wrapped them differently this year. I found a really cool wrapping idea on Pinterest and decided to give it a try. It turned out great! :)

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!
Thanksgiving was a great day to spend with our families. We started the day at my brother, Chad's house where we also celebrated our nephew's 3rd birthday. He was so excited and the thought the Thanksgiving celebration was all for him! He even told his little sister that the Christmas lights on the house were for him and not her, in honor of his birthday! Silly Roo! That evening, we went to Kevin's parent's house and had a good meal with his folks and brother and sister-in-law. We played UNO and I won!! :) That night, I was very tired from all the turkey we ate!
On Black Friday, I wasn't planning on doing any shopping but Kevin insisted on going to the mall for a little bit to watch all the crazy people. We didn't get up early but we did end up at the mall for an hour or so and we did end up getting one Christmas present. Kevin ended up getting up around 3AM because he couldn't sleep and decided to go out into the madness and after 2 1/2 hours of being gone, he finally returned home at 5:30 with my Christmas present bought. That is LOVE! :) Only 27 more days until I can find out what he bought me in the wee hours of the night!
The countdown has begun until Christmas Break ... only 15 more days (3 weeks)! The day after Thanksgiving, we put up our Christmas tree and decorated the house. We watched "Elf" and listened to Christmas music! We have most of the presents bought but not wrapped yet. We just have to get our niece and nephew their gifts and we'll be done Christmas shopping and it isn't even December yet!
We have a lot going on in December as I'm sure you do too. All of our Christmas cards are ready to be sent out and we're excited for the holiday season!

Thanksgiving
This is the week of Thanksgiving. On facebook, I have been doing the 30 Days of Thanks and today I am on Day 21. What are you thankful for today?
This week will be a busy week for all of us. Kevin has school today and Tuesday and has the rest of the week off! :) Tuesday, is our annual Harvest Supper at our church. It is always a good time with yummy food and great people! Wednesday, is our weekly massage...can't wait! I am very thankful for our insurance which allows us to get massages! And of course, Thanksgiving, is on Thursday. We will spend the day with both families. Our first stop will be at my brother's house where we will have delicious food and celebrate my nephew's 3rd birthday! Then we will go to Kevin's parent's house for dinner. We are looking forward to spending time with our families and I am sure you are as well. Friday, is black Friday shopping day! This year, we aren't planning on going out. I have a lot of my Christmas shopping done already and I want to avoid the crowds and people. Maybe Kevin and I will go out in the afternoon and watch all the crazy people, who knows! Over the weekend, we will be decorating our house for Christmas! I am so excited to get everything set up and looking Christmasy! :) Yesterday, Kevin put up the Christmas lights outside but we will not be turning them on until after Thanksgiving!
Take a moment each day this week and be thankful for something. Most of us have things that many others do not. We hope you have a great Thanksgiving with your families! :)
