Here are 10 things you might want to know but probably already do! :)
1. Kevin and I met when we were in high school. Kevin was a sophmore and I was a Junior. We met through a mutual friend at my church's youth group. We hung out a lot and broke up and got back together twice. By October of 2000, we were officially boyfriend and girlfriend and have been together ever since. We attended each other's school dances including Christmas dances and both Proms.
2. We dated for 7 1/2 years before we were married. We were engaged June 8, 2007 and we got married June 21, 2008. We went to Chicago for our honeymoon! We love to visit Chicago and try to get there once a year!
3. We lived in an apartment for a year. We bought a house in Norton Shores in 2009. We love our neighborhood and there are a lot of young couples our age. We also have a lot of kids in our neighborhood. We love the family environment.
4. Kevin graduated from Mona Shores High School in 2002. He played baseball. I graduated from Fruitport High School in 2001. I played tennis. We both attended Muskegon Community College and Grand Valley State University where we earned our teaching degrees. We graduated together in December of 2007.
5. We are both teachers. Kevin teaches at West Ottawa High School. Before getting his teaching job, Kevin was a long-term substitute at WOHS. He also did his student teaching here. He accepted his teaching job in 2008. He has been teaching for 7 years (1 year in middle school, 6 in high school). Laura is a substitute teacher looking for a full-time job.
6. Some of Kevin's hobbies include watching University of Michigan sports, doing anything in the yard/outside, playing men's softball in the summer & fall and playing basketball. He also enjoys being a chaperone for the annual 8th grade trip to Washington D.C. He has been doing this for 5 years now. Kevin likes to spend time with me (his lovely wife) and our puppy, Buddy.
7. Some of Laura's hobbies include scrapbooking, reading, blogging, baking, and spending time with her handsome hubby and puppy, Buddy.
8. In the summer months, Kevin teaches summer school at WO.
9. We enjoy spending time with our 2 nieces and 4 nephews. We are fortunate to spend a lot of time with them!
10. Kevin has 2 brothers, one older and one younger. I also have 2 brothers, both older.
11. BONUS! We got a puppy in December 2011. His name is Buddy! He is a shih tzu/bichon mix.
